MCP, the Model Context Protocol, lets AI agents call external tools for context and actions instead of relying only on a static prompt. Nura ships an MCP server so agents can retrieve source-backed company memory directly, the same current decision, source, and reasoning a person would get by asking Nura. What the MCP server does

Retrieval through MCP is designed to respect the same access controls already set in your connected tools.
Does not bypass admin controls
Workspace admins still control which sources are connected. MCP access does not create a separate path around those controls.

The current MCP server supports retrieval. Agent-initiated write actions are not currently supported.
Why this matters
An agent is only as good as the context it can reach.
AI agents need internal context before they can answer or act reliably on company-specific tasks. That context has to come from somewhere: a static prompt, an uploaded document, or a live, source-backed retrieval layer, and each has different limits. Nura's MCP server is built to be that live layer, so an agent can retrieve the same current, sourced answer a person would get by asking directly.
